The Ocean Ambassadors Foundation Award of Honour was recently presented to Capt. Festus Hodewu for his exceptional contributions and also as a facilitator at the OAF Children’s Day Blue Talents School to Sea Program for the girl child. This prestigious event, celebrating both his dedication to maritime education and his significant impact on the maritime industry in Nigeria, took place at the APM Terminals in Apapa, Lagos.

The event featured several notable speakers. Mr. Kenneth Chiazor, General Manager of Hydro Marine and Boats Services Limited, gave a keynote presentation on boat building on behalf of the MD/CEO, Capt. Festus Olusegun Hodewu.

Mr. Frederick Olatunde Aleilo, CEO of Alet Inspirationz Prints Ltd, spoke on the advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in digital printing. Additionally, representatives from the Lagos State Coconut Development Authority (LASCODA) and Williams Violet, Principal Partner at Vow Ventures Ltd and President of the Ocean Ambassadors Foundation, were among the esteemed speakers.

The event saw attendance from several secondary schools, including Dansol College, Ikeja, Queen’s College, Yaba, Igbobi College, Yaba, Honeyland Schools, and Yaba College of Technology Secondary School, among others. The participation of these schools highlighted the foundation’s commitment to fostering maritime education and career opportunities for young students.

The award to Capt. Festus Hodewu underscores his pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of maritime professionals and his outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the maritime industry in Nigeria.
